GESEK’S POLICY FOR PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA

GESEK wants to protect your personal data. This policy describes how GESEK handles personal data collected and processed on GESEK’s website and in connection with e-mail correspondence, etc.

What is personal data?

Personal data covers all information that can be used to identify a person, e.g., a person’s name, address, e-mail address or other contact information, regardless of whether it relates to the person’s private residence or workplace. As a rule, you can use the website without informing us about who you are or otherwise share personal information about yourself.

How does GESEK collect personal data?

  • When accepting the use of cookies on our website.
  • When providing information about yourself, for instance by answering a questionnaire or filling in a form on the website.
  • When registering for an event arranged by GESEK.
  • When using social media, such as Facebook and LinkedIn, in your communication with GESEK, e.g. in connection with GESEK’s consultations, programmes, events, and the marketing thereof.

In this connection, GESEK may, among other things, collect the following personal data:

  • Name, identification and contact information (e.g. telephone number, e-mail address), when you fill in forms or otherwise communicate with GESEK via the website.
  • IP address, information about the operating system of your computer or mobile device and the selected browser.
    Online activities on the website.
  • Information about you from social media, including Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • GESEK does not process sensitive information about you.

What does GESEK use personal data for?

GESEK uses the information to target our marketing and other offers to our stakeholders so that it is as relevant as possible. We also use the information to deliver services to you (for example when you register for an event).

What is the legal basis for GESEK processing personal data?

Our basis for processing personal data is partly the fulfilment of contractual conditions or obligations towards you (Article 6, subsection 1, letter b of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)), and partly a balancing of interests (Article 6, subsection 1, letter f of the European General Data Protection Regulation(GDPR)). The legitimate interests that justify the processing are our interest in being able to target our communication and marketing efforts as well as providing any information you may request.

To whom does GESEK pass on personal data?
The personal data you submit to us on the website and other sites that we operate is used only by GESEK. GESEK only passes on personal data to the extent required by law, for example to the police or authorities if legally necessary. GESEK uses third pary data processors for, e.g. IT operations and e-mail communication.
